Endangered Sumatran tiger dies in trap on APP concession in Indonesia

Recently word came to a Greenpeace office in Indonesia that a Sumatran tiger was stuck in an animal trap in the province of Riau. It was trapped for six days in total without food or water. After a week of suffering forest officers arrived to evacuate the tiger – but it was too late. The tiger died during the rescue attempt.

(Rajasthan, India) A court today sentenced five hunters 31 years of imprisonment under six sections of the Wildlife Protection Act for killing a tigress in Sariska reserve in 2004.

'If we don't take action now, one of the most iconic animals on our planet could be gone in just a few decades.
